{"id":3039,"date":"2021-05-07T17:53:29","date_gmt":"2021-05-07T15:53:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/agroalimentariachico.com\/?p=3039"},"modified":"2021-05-07T17:53:29","modified_gmt":"2021-05-07T15:53:29","slug":"duroc-labelling-and-animal-welfare-quality-certifications","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/agroalimentariachico.com\/en\/duroc-labelling-and-animal-welfare-quality-certifications\/","title":{"rendered":"Duroc labelling and Animal welfare, quality certifications"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>At <a href=\"https:\/\/agroalimentariachico.com\/\"><strong>Agroalimentaria Chico<\/strong><\/a> we are very proud of having obtained two of the most important certifications in the pig sector:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bienestaranimalcertificado.com\/\"><strong>IAWS (Interporc Animal Welfare Spain)<\/strong><\/a><strong> animal welfare<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.paed.es\/es\/index.htm\"><strong>PAED (Programa de Autocontrol del Etiquetado Duroc \u2013 <em>Duroc Labelling Self-Monitoring Program<\/em>)<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These certifications are the recognition for a job well done, thanks to the implication of all the staff and the fact of having a well-defined mission:<strong> Produce pork products in a sustainable way, innovating in all the processes of the value chain and always respecting animal welfare and the environment.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Both seals have a validity of three years, but we will have a yearly monitoring audit to guarantee that we perform our task correctly, so we keep the certifications.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>IAWS animal welfare certification\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>What is IAWS? <\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>It is the certification seal created by INTERPORC to endorse the good practices carried out in terms of animal welfare, health, biosecurity, animal management and traceability in all the steps of the white pig\/pork value chain in Spain.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bienestaranimalcertificado.com\/bienestar-animal-certificado-iaws\/en-beneficio-del-consumidor\/\"><strong>IAWS<\/strong><\/a><strong> seal<\/strong> assures the consumer that the product that they are going to purchase and consume has been produced with the maximum guarantees in terms of animal welfare and safety.<\/p>\n<p>Its goal is to guarantee to the consumer that the pork products identified with this seal derive from economic operators that have fulfilled the requirements established by INTERPORC regarding animal welfare, biosecurity and traceability through its <strong>Technical Regulations<\/strong>, that safeguard the fulfilment of the five animal welfare principles or freedoms established by the <strong>World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH\/OIE)<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Animals free from hunger, thirst and malnutrition<\/li>\n<li>Animals free from fear and distress<\/li>\n<li>Animals free from physical or thermal discomfort<\/li>\n<li>Animals free from pain, injury or disease<\/li>\n<li>Animals free to express normal behaviour<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"149\" height=\"162\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3028\" src=\"https:\/\/agroalimentariachico.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/SELLO-IAWS-.png\" alt=\"sello iaws interporc\" srcset=\"https:\/\/agroalimentariachico.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/SELLO-IAWS-.png 149w, https:\/\/agroalimentariachico.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/SELLO-IAWS--22x24.png 22w, https:\/\/agroalimentariachico.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/SELLO-IAWS--33x36.png 33w, https:\/\/agroalimentariachico.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/SELLO-IAWS--44x48.png 44w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 149px) 100vw, 149px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This certification is issued depending on the kind of farm: breeders, nurseries and fattening farms.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/agroalimentariachico.com\/s-a-t\/\"><strong>S.A.T. HNOS. CHICO S.L.<\/strong><\/a> <strong>received the certification regarding the 3 production stages on 25 February 2021.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Our <a href=\"https:\/\/agroalimentariachico.com\/duroc\/\"><strong>Duroc<\/strong><\/a> pigs measure up to the highest demands of the consumers.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Duroc Labelling Self-Monitoring Program\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n<h3><strong>What is the PAED?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.paed.es\/es\/index.htm\"><strong>PAED<\/strong><\/a> is a voluntary program to monitor the labelling of <strong>Duroc<\/strong> pigs.
